The Pui Ying Alumni Association of Southern California was formed in 1948 for the purpose of bringing the former Pui Ying students together from the Southern California regions to continue Pui Ying’s 130 years tradition of loving and caring spirits. This website provides latest alumni events and activities in Southern California, as well as, links to other Pui Ying websites. This website offers a way for global Pui Ying students to search for former classmates and school acquaintances.

Message from the President

Dear Southern California Alumni member,

I am extremely honored to have been selected as the new president of the Pui Ying Alumni Association of Southern California and to accept the duties and responsibilities that was trusted and entitled to me. I am very grateful to my predecessors who have tirelessly contributed their leadership skills and their valuable resources to establish this distinguish organization for 60 years. The organization has been better and more united from year to year which symbolizes the Pui Ying’s torch is burning brighter for generations to generations to come.

 
The recent 60th anniversary celebration of the Pui Ying Alumni Association of Southern California on April 20th has demonstrated the spirit of unity and friendship among the alumni living in various parts of the world. They came from afar to celebrate this important event with us and shared their joys and their valuable personal experiences among the fellow classmates and the former teachers. It was evident that the former Pui Ying teachers exposed their pride and satisfaction when they saw the successes and accomplishments of their students as a result of their vigorous teaching in school. This was a very emotional event for all as we witnessed the spirit of cooperation, the joy of meeting former classmates, the mutual respects among alumni, and most of all, the pride of being a part of Pui Ying.

The song “Pui Ying Will Shine Tonight” that all 288 alumni sang together at the 60th Anniversary dinner while holding and waving the flash lights up high sent a powerful message to all Pui Ying alumni in the world; unity is the power and you will not be alone among the fellow alumni. The Pui Ying’s guiding principles of Faith, Hope and Love have been emphasized at the celebration and they will live forever in the heart of all alumni. Many inspired alumni had expressed their desires to see the joint global activities continue. I am confident that these principles will spread globally like wild fire to all Pui Ying alumni.

As the newly elected president of the Pui Ying Alumni Association of the Southern California, I’ll do my best to continue this effort, to expand the spirit of unity and the cooperation with other Pui Ying schools and alumni associations. I can envision the international cooperation will be the major theme for years to come. The alumni associations will solidify alumni relationships. The associations will establish good examples for the students who are still in school pursuing their dreams and careers. It will be exciting for the alumni to lead and to encourage students to excel in school for a bright and better future.
